I worked horrendous hours because they had trouble keeping mechanics - 6, 12-14hr shifts, alternating night shift every other week. Upper Management and Engineer's weren't willing to work with the mechanics/millwrights to find actual solutions to mechanical problems - I installed many 'fixes' that I had advised against stating they would not solve the actual issues, and in some cases make it worse. More often than not, I would be told to press on with the design created, which resulted in further down time when their designs failed. Had to fight for any increase in pay despite taking their Millwright tests.

Very difficult to trust management. Multiple occasions of being told/guaranteed something will happen, and then being chastised for asking when it will happen, or even bringing it up again. Very little done to promote growth from within. No succession planning done, or training established to move up in the company Family does not matter to them, and is not something that should affect your decisions In meetings with management, told they do not negotiate, and any attempts at showing extra work done or going above and beyond will not be rewarded. Multiple occurrences where gossip reached higher levels, and no conversations are had about the supposed gossip with effected employees. It becomes the new perspective of employee. Very little one-on-one face time with upper management. The occasional meetings will get rescheduled or postponed until issue is dropped. Very difficult to obtain an opportunity to talk with anyone high in the company if there are any issues. Employee's struggle talking in meetings for fear of retribution.
