Pros

The banter is good Good immediate collegues Beer in the office Personable managers Dress down on a Friday Not much

Cons

There is no communication between departments and internal customer service is appalling! Everyone is overworked and underpaid. We are asked to come in early and stay late, there is no extra pay for this but if you don't then trust me, management will remember this! They have no idea what the difference between work and play is. The pay is rediculous compared with other conference companies and other sales roles. Low amount of paid holiday compaered with industry. Time off is frowned upon. Everyone is mircomanaged. It is like being at school. You must not be one minute late, if you are not on the phone for 1 minute you will be asked why. You must stand for the 1st 15 minutes of the day and the first 15 mins back from lunch. We play silly games in the morning to 'rev up' that does nothing to aid our work and is a waste of time. Silly incentives such as make me this amount of money and i will buy you a pint? These dont suffice for the amount of work you have to put in to get that free pint. The management are not experienced at it shows, a lot of blagging it seems to happen along the way. It seems new rules are put in place every day and someone is always leaving. If you make it past a year here you are awesome, most people do not make it past probation, and those who do leave anyway. They extend a lot of probations so they can fire you at any point for any reason. Commision is appaling. The company give you a million false promises at the interveiw stage and continue to lie to you throughout your time there.

Pros

Some of the people were great and it can be a fun environment if you’re young and just starting out in your career. You get thrown in at the deep end so you will learn a lot quickly (but painfully)

Cons

Difficult environment to work in as a woman. You have to have thick skin and be prepared to deal with the frequent inappropriate remarks from male colleagues. You won’t get taken seriously if you report this to leadership. Some very childish and shocking behaviour particularly amongst the sales teams. String you along with the promise of profit share, but most events don’t make any money and they can actually give you negative profit share if it loses money! Expected to work to unrealistic deadlines meaning long hours for low pay.

Thank you for your review, it is important we listen to all forms of feedback and continue to improve as an employer, but I was saddened to read your review. As a Company, we are continuously looking at ways we can improve our Employee Experience and Engagement. Things like: • Improved Company Benefits (i.e. – Increased holiday allowances, improved pension, life insurance and more work is being done on this to significantly further our provisions in the near future) • Introduced a new Health CashPlan, focused on wellbeing and mental health • A new On boarding Platform to help new starters familiarise with the company and their roles • On-line training platform, for areas like Anti-Harassment and many other forms of employee training. Your comments on Anti-Harassment are especially disappointing to read. We take our duty of care incredibly seriously and would never condone the behavior you mention. We have staff appointed to liaise with employees and ensure there is an open communication channel with HR in case anyone witnesses inappropriate behavior of any kind. In the rare instance that a complaint has been made in the past, it is always dealt with thoroughly and professionally. It is essential that we investigate and appropriately deal with any allegations or complaints. Sadly, situations can be discussed amongst colleagues, but for us to commence an investigation they also need to be formally raised to the Company. I am very sorry that in your case you either were not aware, or did not feel comfortable taking this route and that is a failure on our behalf. As a proactive measure, and to underline our determination and commitment towards a diverse and meritocratic work environment, every employee has been provided with external training on an updated Anti-Harassment and Bullying Policy. All new employees go through the same training as part of our induction and we regularly remind employees of our informal and formal procedures to address any concerns. Like all organisations, we know we still have work to do but we remain committed to creating a fun, transparent and collaborative environment, where all our employees feel valued and supported and we believe these efforts are increasingly visible in our retention and staff tenure rates, which beat industry benchmarks. As such, I would very much like the opportunity to discuss the points raised in your review and encourage you to please contact me on Edward.gumm@iqpc.co.uk so that I can schedule a call with you.
