Pros

Although a lot of the information on this thread has merit, this business actually provides a lot of promise. In this sales role, the goal is to sift through the market to find the companies that could use a platform like this to get closer to new business. It can be rough, but certainly doable. If you can get a few good clients and continue to expand them across multiple events, it creates a sort of residual income- and anyone in sales knows how important that is while trying to grow a book of business. If you're looking for a "get rich quick" job, this is not it. This sales position is the right fit for someone who sees the bigger picture. It will take some hustle and grunt work to begin, but there are several people in this same role pulling in ~$200K per year. The long term potential in this company is real. Although training is somewhat limited in some departments, it is present. In fact, my manager would come in at 7:30 in the morning to work with me if I asked for it. Most of the managers are thoroughly engaged and have vested interest in your success. Overall, for those that are willing to buckle down and hustle for a year or two, this opportunity is real.

Cons

You get out what you put in. In the early days, be ready to work long hours. It does appear to be worth it in the long run.

Pros

The company rewards based on merit. It gives young people real control and responsibility much earlier that other firms typically would. This freedom of movement in all roles is normally repaid in full by the efforts of the graduate. Its a fun place to work, you will learn a tremendous amount that will help set you up for your career and you get to hang out with some very smart and capable people

Cons

On first contact the office atmosphere appears to be quite informal. In actual fact it's a highly commercial enterprise where decisions are made quickly and every role has clearly defined KPI's. This is not necessarily a bad thing as long as you are confident in your abilities and comfortable being bench-marked against other employees

Pros

Learn extensive market analysis, current industry trends.and the ability to communicate with decision makers, be that vendors or c-level executives from enterprise companies. Great connections for a future job. LA BAMBA is amazing. Paid to travel to interesting places and stay in high-end resorts. The best part is time out of the office. For the most part, the people in the Tampa office are enjoyable to work with. 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Trust me, it's long enough.

Cons

Within upper management, there is a very publically known, and profoundly inappropriate relationship which is causing a significant rift within the company due to extreme and excessive favoritism, unjustifiable perks and bonuses. Since the relationship is within upper management, there is nothing that anyone can do about it. Training does not exist, and neither does the training manual. You might think you're worth to more money. How wrong you are! There is very little reward for people who bring value. At these very nice hotels, you are given a per diem that covers a hotel water in your room. Once - there were tools that helped the sales people to generate more leads and close business faster. However, these tools were taken away and upper management refuses to find a solution. UNPROFESSIONAL: 1) Conduct 2) Relationships 3)Favoritism 4)Treatment of staff on the floor.
