Pros

Training is out standing! Great environment, natural buzz, friendly colleagues, easy crm system, commission structure is fair

Cons

Very low salary, topics of event take a while to get your head - very complicated and boring, tiny bit of micro management, date isn't good, targets aren't realistic

Pros

The company rewards based on merit. It gives young people real control and responsibility much earlier that other firms typically would. This freedom of movement in all roles is normally repaid in full by the efforts of the graduate. Its a fun place to work, you will learn a tremendous amount that will help set you up for your career and you get to hang out with some very smart and capable people

Cons

On first contact the office atmosphere appears to be quite informal. In actual fact it's a highly commercial enterprise where decisions are made quickly and every role has clearly defined KPI's. This is not necessarily a bad thing as long as you are confident in your abilities and comfortable being bench-marked against other employees

Struggling local office in the midst of overhaul

Pros

Some great people. Certain teams are tight-knit within themselves, and have excellent managers who are protective of their people, and who cultivate a 'work hard, play hard' ethic. Across the board, the senior team leads clearly care deeply about improving the business. Some close friendships remain even after leaving the company. Recent changes in senior management are clearly taking the right steps to drive profitability, inject fun in the office and break down animosity between teams who fight for the same data. Working mothers are treated well and are offered flexible working hours. If you can do the job well, you will have ample freedom to do it your way, so long as you produce good results.

Cons

It is common sentiment that the heyday of the company is over and that things are not what they once were. Many of the old processes have been forgotten, so work is pretty much freestyle. The office is a mixed bag of loyal, hardworking employees who are riding out a tough period, and young starters who are trying their best but are simply incompetent. Others take advantage of the positive culture of work-life balance and do the bare minimum. Top performers who left have been replaced by cheaper, less experienced staff who correspondingly produce lower quality work. The lack of structured onboarding puts pressure on managers to give 'on the job training', which of course they have little time to do. Most often this means patching problems as they emerge, or else leaving the problems be and letting events fail. The turnover rate is both notorious and ridiculous. Recent intervention from headquarters is helping to turn the business around, but also means a harsh period of cost-cutting, affecting manpower and resources for all events.
