Pros

The people and management are genuinely great. A few bad eggs, as with everywhere, but on the whole the management care and the people are kind. As an events company, the socials are also good and plentiful. The work life balance is good in Marketing, and the pressure to meet targets wasn’t as bad as other reviews have made out (although I can’t speak for the DS/Spex teams who I imagine would be under more pressure). Despite being a large company, you had opportunities and flexibility to try new things, learn new skills and make the most of new opportunities.

Cons

Lack of progress for content, which is also the only team that doesn’t get profit share. Content is a small part of IQPC Exchange, it is an events company first and foremost, and the job can feel unrewarding as your work is based on downloads/conversions, which is difficult in a time where no one wants to fill in a form anymore to access content. It was hard to feel like I contributed anything to the events. The work can get mundane/feel pointless but that could be due to me disliking office work and WFH.

Pros

Clear career development plan in place for me. Earning potential is huge and uncapped here. Mix of experience within the team ranging from 6 months to 10+ years with good collaboration amongst us. Lots of connectivity with the other departments to project manage the events you work on. Sponsorship have a leading role in the event’s delivery onsite which is really good as you get to support your clients personally throughout. Regular company meetings and socials to keep all informed on the direction the business is heading.

Cons

More days attending the office would be a benefit especially for me. We’re currently in 2 days a week and work from home on the other days. Modern offices but could do with more meeting rooms. Difficult to access one unless pre-booked well in advance. Sometimes I would prefer to have an event all to myself rather than share it with another team member - for obvious reasons!

Interview experience

Pros

Team seem friendly but ultimately do not keep promises

Cons

The interview experience was dire. Communication was not what was promised, said would take 24 hours to respond, took over a week and I had to chase them. Eventually gave job to an internal candidate who appeared last minute in the process so feel quite put that after 4 rounds of interviews they announced ‘we’ve just had an internal application’. Shocking communication and no direct number to call or get in contact with. Be careful of this company.
