      Sustainable work-life for consulting with good people

      Pros

      -Numbers focused instead of PMR helps with the hours -People are generally nice, collaborative, and fun to talk to -Most managers don't expect you to be available 100% of the time -Lots of opportunity for visibility with more senior members and clients -As of recently, the compensation has become VERY competitive with top tier firms despite being niche

      Cons

      -Projects get old and repetitive -Don't have good ways to get around poor data visibility -Some managers have no respect for work-life balance -Some consultants/managers don't know how to prioritize need-to-haves with nice-to-haves on a project -Lots of running around to produce things you won't ever use -Lack of diversity, but it's consulting in Boston, that's expected. As a person of color, I'm just glad to be in an environment with awareness and sensitivity. It's not much better elsewhere in the industry.

      smart people, very smart. large organization. if you need data, you almost HAVE to deal with them. they are the platinum standard.

      Cons

      soul less. cruel. no real loyalty to employees. this is a horrible place that could care less about how hard you work, how much you do for them, how much you work. they will take everything you have and then spit you out without notice, without due process, without any choices. honestly, they are the single most heartless organization that i have ever seen. stay away unless you honestly dont care about culture. they have only a culture of selfishness and back stabbing

      Pros

      Work From Home, No Commute, Dont have to invest in a work wardrobe, good thing because I can't afford the aforementioned.

      Cons

      Low pay, sad merit increases, dwindling bonuses, they've done away with all of the perks. Increased workload, unlimited vacation time that no one has time to use. Upper management is lining their already deep pockets by taking away from the rest of us little people. Poor processes which are constantly changing. Management doesn't listen to their employees when we say we're drowning. Cannot ask for help from fellow colleagues. The list goes on and on and on.
