Pros

Bonus payouts are tied to company rating on glassdoor, peakon, nps score etc, employees are financially encouraged to improve these scores. It's a pro because you can lie about them being a great place to work and you'll get more money!

Cons

They're currently gutting teams to send all work overseas to India, shortsighted move and I can't see how it's going to shake out (except for presumably making shareholders a ton of money). All of the good people have either left or been pushed out or made redundant, business decisions are being made by people chasing sales goals rather than realistic options, I hate it here but I have a mortgage to pay and mouths to feed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review, although we’re extremely surprised and disappointed by your comments. We are delighted to offer all our permanent employees an annual bonus payout. Our bonus plans consider various different factors such as the achievement of company financial targets, employee personal performance, mandatory compliance training and managers setting great objectives for their teams. We are also proud to rightly recognise and reward genuine high performance from our managers and so this is included in a range of our senior compensation plans. As we continue to grow as a global business, we need to ensure that we have engineering talent across a range of locations. We’re delighted that our people based in India, the Americas, and Romania are wholly part of the passionate team we have within IRIS. Recently, we’ve seen the benefits to business where we’ve extended the family into our Centres of Excellence to allow us to extend time zones to increase hours of support and continue to innovate. To continue as a successful business we need to ensure that we have teams in the right place and in the right regions, responding at the right time for our customers. We’re always looking for ways we can be the best we can be, and we would welcome any further suggestions. Please speak to your HR representative or leave a comment in our next Peakon survey. Kind regards, the HR team

Disappointing and a let down

Pros

I really cannot think of many positive statements if im honest, there are a handful decent people working here but If you are fortunate enough to be in the approved circles you will get on relatively well otherwise get your CV updated and look elsewhere, it really is a face fitting exercise for this company.

Cons

Well i could sit here and write the next best selling novel. I don't need to though, i think the rest of the reviews sum it all up quite accurately. Its true there are some (albeit minor) positives but ultimately the rest is rather shocking to be honest. I worked for a brand that was acquired by IRIS a few years back, the brand itself was doing rather well until IRIS came in and basically just ruined, no, completely obliterated is actually more of an accurate summary. This down to the tunnel vision of management, one size does certainly not fit all. Unfortunately the impact of those poor visions has lead to significant departures of long serving members, so knowledge and skills have been lost and replaced with, well minions and yes people who have zero knowledge on what they are supposedly managing. There have also been recent redundancies which is leaving a sour taste in everyone's mouths. Cost saving activities, culling, call it what you like, we know IRIS are not exactly doing much for their employees and only just meeting the basic legal requirements. For a company that likes to boast how well they have done in the past this really does not reflect in how they treat their employees by then making them redundant. Bullying culture, where do i start. There is an abuse of power in some cases and having been a victim of bullying here, HR will do nothing about it especially if it is your manager who is the bully. I have also seen and heard first hand how some management speak to their staff, its embarrassing and the attitude does not belong. As bad as it sounds what is the point of reporting it when it is very clear that nothing will be done about it. Good luck getting a salary increase, if you sit within a function that has different types of roles in you wont get anything. My salary does not reflect the work i have put in over the last few years but even at Year in Review i was made to feel like an inconvenience and not worth my managers time. Also when looking at market rates i am significantly under what i should be on for the role i serve. Career opportunities - forget that, unless you are on what they call a high potential program. You will not get the training you need or ask for, full stop so don't waste your breath. I believe you should always try and take a negative and make it into a positive but in this case IRIS are so disappointing and have literally ruined what was a lovely working environment, with great colleagues, good working culture and fun, to somewhere im just not proud to work for or openly advertise i work for this company. You have failed me and so many other colleagues!

We are very sorry that you have been affected by the recent restructure within our Sales organisation. We appreciate you taking the time to give us feedback, although we are surprised and disappointed by your comments. We are particularly concerned regarding your allegations of bullying and would sincerely ask you to reach out to Stephanie Kelly, our Chief People Officer, in complete confidence, so that we can put things right. We pride ourselves on being a supportive and inclusive culture and train all our managers to reflect our values and take any instances where someone has fallen short of our high standards very seriously. However, we must respectfully correct the assertions in your review. We are proud to pay our employees fairly and competitively for their hard work at IRIS – many departments enjoy dedicated pay progression schemes to ensure they’re recognised as they grow their careers with us. Likewise, we run an annual salary review process each November to ensure we’re paying competitively, and we’re also delighted to celebrate many promotions across the business each year. We are fully accredited as a Real Living Wage employer, meaning we are independently recognised as paying our staff fairly for a day’s work. On top of this, we offer a fantastic flexible benefits package (including company funded private healthcare, income protection and life insurance) and a whole host of other benefits to ensure our employees are well-compensated for their achievements. We also offer an extensive programme of training and development – please check them out on Course Listings to sign up. We regularly fund individual qualifications and certifications for employees and have been delighted to process over 100 applications for apprenticeship funding this year already. Please reach out to our Learning team at learning@iris.co.uk to discuss the course you’re interested in. Due to the impact of Covid-19 and associated operational changes, we have had to make a small number of roles redundant within IRIS. This is done with a heavy heart and only when all other options have been exhausted. We aim to treat all affected employees with the dignity and compassion they so rightly deserve, and follow a consultation process to investigate alternative options, highlight other roles they may wish to move into and signpost the extensive support on offer to them during this difficult time. We always offer such employees paid time off for training or other interviews, fund outplacement support if they leave the company, and frequently offer ex-gratia payments to support them into their next chapter. We would very much appreciate the opportunity to speak with you directly so that we can help put things right – please reach out to your local HR representative or our Chief People Officer, Stephanie Kelly. Kind regards, the HR team

We are very sorry that you have been affected by the recent restructure within our Sales organisation. Thank you very much for leaving a review – we certainly agree that we have nice people here at IRIS and give our employees the opportunity to get ahead with competitive salaries, a generous benefits package, commission opportunities for salespeople and the chance to earn financial rewards and other prizes through a range of awards and initiatives (such as our IMPACT and Made in IRIS Awards). We also offer an extensive range of management and leadership training through our Managing and Leading with IMPACT programmes across the organisation, to give everyone the skills and expertise they need to be truly great leaders. We are therefore surprised and disappointed by your further comments. As a business, we pride ourselves on treating our staff fairly and with common sense and compassion, and this is the ethos we expect from everyone within IRIS – from our newest employee to our most senior colleagues. We’d really like to discuss your concerns in more detail so we can resolve any issues constructively – please reach out to Stephanie Kelly, our Chief People Officer, in complete confidence so that we can help. Kind regards, the HR team
