Early days but exciting times

Its been a few months since I joined IRIS in May this year and I never have a dull day, joining through covid means I haven't met all the team yet face to face but I already feel like one of the family. The road ahead is so exciting, moving the digital agenda within other businesses is often difficult but IRIS is so focused on improving, and truly becoming a digital business makes things even more positive. I know all businesses have there growing pains and I have been in a number of old slow moving businesses but it seems that everyone is working together to do better at IRIS. The pace is fast almost start up speed which most businesses are trying to emulate which could unnerve some people but I like that speed and pace.

So welcoming - I joined IRIS late last year through an acquisition and was instantly welcomed as part of the team. The company has a great vision and leadership steering the company in the right direction during this crazy time! There are so many different opportunities to further your career or even change paths. IRIS are very supportive of this and there are loads of internal training and development programs available which is awesome to learn and develop. I would recommend IRIS as a great place to work and there is pretty much a job that will suit anyone here!

Cons

The pace is very fast which is hard work but you get great rewards and they look after their staff with plenty of rewards and incentives.

Great place to work with opportunities to expand your career

There are loads of opportunities to work across the different parts of the business - I personally have moved from finance into operations and have enjoyed the challenge in doing this that would have previously been outside my comfort zone. The support I have received has been brilliant, and there is always an open ear when you want to bounce ideas off different people across the business. The people at IRIS are what makes it a great and fun place to work. Being a customer centric busines, the customer is at the heart of everything we do - however the Exco team understand the importance of what our people play in making that happen. Over the last 12 months, some amazing initiatives have been launched for our people such at the 'Made in IRIS CEO award' where all employees can pitch business ideas to the exec team. We have also launched IRIS TV where you can get updated on what is going on around the business.

Cons

Nothing stands still at IRIS and that fast paced nature is not for everyone, however I would say if you're willing to push yourself then the support network is brilliant.
