Pros

You get a phone and a pc during work hours

Cons

Where do I start?! - Ridicoulous levels of micromanagement - Egos the size of the Earth - Director sat in their office everyday doing absolutely nothing - Total disregard for employee wellbeing - Actively being encouraged to lie to customers to buy - Managers turning a blind eye to illicit practices (sometimes even encouraging it) - A sieve would probably have a higher staff retention - Did I already mention micromanagement? - Hypocrisy is rife. There seems to be no standardisation for procedures - There is a manager that walks around yelling profanities at anybody and everyone. Probably didn't get enough attention as a child. - Micromanagement - Go with Sage If that doesn't ward you off, nothing will

Pros

IRIS has great people working for the organisation. They are also rapidly expanding and are going places commercially speaking. My line manager was excellent.

Cons

HR and training is poor. There simply isn't enough career progression unless you are an elitist clique. There is an offer of performance based bonus where the appraisal doesn't actually happen and if you're lucky, you might gain the bonus in July (when appraisals happen in May). When resigning, HR are unfair and impersonal, even if you were hard working and good at what you did. What was very disappointing is directors don't offer training opportunities easily, and once you have resigned and working notice - you're dead to them.

Pros

Group Pension, Private Medical Insurance, Life Insurance, Season Loan Ticket, Cycle to work, Buy/Sell Holidays, Work from Home Flexibility...etc...Company thrives and claims to provide excellent benefits and flexibility to all employees.

Cons

- Company's focus is more towards Sales and Acquisitions and keeping their Investors happy. - Employees are treated like a number and expected work hard and keep quiet without any support and rewards. - Management's attitude is that if you're quiet and work hard, then you are happy; If you don't do any work and make lots of negative and unnecessary noise then they'll promote you. - Product Management fails to take responsibility and passed the blame on Development and team. - Board members are big bullies who are more interested in maintaining an "image" than be open to their customers and work the employees to deliver a reliable and performing product. - Can't expect anything from HR; slow, unorganised and unsympathetic towards any employees and cause.
