Pros

Until recently, job security was a reward of a job well-done. Union benefits. Great insurance. The pay is fair and gradually increases to a certain point.

Cons

This con list is strictly for the taxpayer advocate department and none other. Very demanding and training leaves a LOT to be desired. After 6 months of training, you will still be very confused and need more training that you will not receive. The site director (LTA) is the worst manager I have ever had. He never talks about his religion but he brings it to work every day. He's a self-righteous, intentionally biased religious zealot. You cannot enter into a conversation with him believing that he intends to listen to you. His mind is made up and nothing you say can convince him otherwise. He calls himself a leader constantly and knows nothing at all about leadership. People like him are why the world hates the church.
