      Pros

      40 hour weeks with no overtime. Lots of co-workers with expert knowledge.

      Cons

      Dead end jobs with no path for advancement. Smart, hard workers are left behind, while ignorant and lazy people are promoted due to factors not related to performance.

      Pros

      It is a very secure job with great benefits. There are consistent step increases and cost of living increases. The workload and balance are normally very good. The salary can be much higher than comparable private sector jobs.

      Cons

      Many employees have never worked in the private sector and don't understand what for profit work is like. Slots for promotions can be very hard to come by. Technology can be ancient. Much of the management chain has no interest in improving things or trying something innovative. IT is incredibly restrictive and process focused with little regard for results.

      Pros

      Government job with federal benefits. No dress code so wear whatever you want, trust me weird people here. Someboday was wearing a full Panada pajama like outfit. LOL.

      Cons

      Poor management, no room to move up. Pay is low for what is expected. Be ready to be graded and measured on everything you do, when you make a mistake its like the world ends. They dont care if you.call off constantly, there is no punishment. Facilities are still in the 80's, old ventilation that causes people to cough and sneeze all the time.
