      Pros

      Have your own cubicle in a real office. Good people to interact with. Manufacturing plants located in the Midwest, so not too far to visit.

      Cons

      Depending on which group you’re in, the job can require a lot of travel. Including multiple trips overseas per year as well as a lot of local travel in the Midwest. Some people may like this but it’s a bit much.

      Pros

      ITW is made up of over 80 divisions that operate independently of one another. This gives management autonomy to do what is best for their division while reaping the benefits of a larger organization such as: CAPEX investments, employee benefits, networking, etc.

      Cons

      Because it is so decentralized, it can be frustrating at times to understand how something is done at other divisions.

      Pros

      Understanding of work and life balance. Event activities for the dept. to get to know one another. Helping the community. Do not micromanage the employees.

      Cons

      Lack of promotions of employees that have been there more than 5 years in the same position. Managers who protect their own friends & will promote those individuals. Managment does not have open communication with all their employees - they favor certain employees.
