The management is terrible. They know you are replaceable and will treat you like it. After spending all my money to get to Alaska, the contract they had me sign was for significantly less than what they told me I would be making over the phone, during my interview. They also do everything they can to give you as few hours as possible, so expect to make very little. Several people I knew had to leave early because they were not making enough to afford the high costs of living in Alaska. When management was told about this, their response was "people don't come here to make money," which shows how expendable they think employees are.
Staff housing is terrible. They have shipping containers divided into three apartments, each of which holds a bunk bed. So that's 6 people living in 1 SHIPPING CONTAINER. It is a difficult situation on employees' mental health. The town is also very small, so not much to do besides get out on nature, but that can be difficult without a car, so either bring one or be quick to make friends with a local.
