Pros

Solid cash flow and stability, as it should be as a public utility.

Cons

Excruciatingly slow pace, even for the low hanging fruit. Legacy managers have long shed their technical skills, and they now operate mostly as paper-pushing administrators who lack urgency or the need to feel they’re contributing.

Awesome place to work

Pros

Idaho Power is a wonderful place to work. The company truly values its employees and invests in them and encourages their growth and achievement. But at the same time the culture isn't an always-on, 60-work week culture. You're encouraged to have a good work-life balance – get your work done, do a good job, and go home to your family. Competitive salary, and one of the few private employers to offer a pension AND a 401k match, which is a huge bonus.

Cons

There's work to do on DEI, but that seems to be changing for the better.

Pros

Stable company with more than enough employees.

Cons

Managers are always in turf wars so getting good work done is always difficult. Very much like walking on eggshells due to all of the turf battles and people protecting their domains.
