Pros

The customer service center is fairly typical of a call center, but the pay and PTO are above average.

Cons

Leadership in the Customer Service Center lacks an acceptable level of genuine kindness, there's much empathy but little actual kindness. Many of the leaders have been in the same role for too many years, multiple decades in a few cases, and kindness toward the actual workers has much opportunity to improve.

I have made several career moves in the past 10 years and Idaho Power is the place I plan on retiring. Compensation is very competitive. Benefits are excellent. Work-life balance is important to leadership. I would absolutely recommend Idaho Power to a friend.

Pros

A pension ( unheard of these days ) good pay, good benefits, 401k match and decent time off. Generally, they try to do their best for their employees. Lots of programs focused on keeping people safe. In the recent past I've been able to be honest about my concerns, had them heard and addressed. This happens slowly, but there was no retaliation and change is happening based on constructive feedback.

Cons

The biggest downside is that they try to staff such that there will never be a need to do a layoff. This is a good thing long term, but there are times when you have way more work than time to do it in.
