Pros

- Extremely casual working environment regarding dress code and company culture - Very good benefits for insurance, 401k matching, etc. - Products are fairly easy to learn and sales process can be less than 60 days on average

Cons

- OTEs are difficult to attain - Management is mostly metrics driven around calls/demos - Not focused on the channel. - Leads come from low budget trade shows. Anything in excess takes a lot of approvals. - Product version releases are done in order to catch up to competition, instead of pass competition.

Pros

Idera/ BBS - they pay a fair base salary and the new office is in a nice location.

Cons

90% of sales managers have no management experience and have no business being a manager. Marketing department works against the sales department instead of supporting their number one customer( sales brings in reveunue). Territories are not evenly distributed and you have to know the right person or be lucky to get a decent territory. It is micro- managed, they keep track of the numbe of calls, to every other single thing including calls minutes. Most of the sales reps. are lazy and the one that get by either kiss up to HR or someone in management to get a good territory. Market is saturated and product is overpriced. New VP of Sales is trying to turn idera into a mini- BMC!! and Director of Sales does absolutely nothing, just as 90% of the sales managers there. HR Director gossips about employees and goes to Happy Hour with a couple of sales managers. Would Not Recommed it. Oh , now they have hired college graduates with no sales experience to work on the same level as experienced account managers. Also , they are trying to sell the company and there was never any room for growth there, esp now.

Pros

Nice offices. Work used to be fun. There was a lot of autonomy in work. Decent wages and benefits.

Cons

Company does not value technical expertise. Everything is done by an inner circle of people who have floated from company to company. Consequently there are some bad ideas and bad execution of good ideas. There is no path for advancement for most tech employees.
