Pros

Participation Age company - No mid/upper level management to have to pass through The ability to utilize your talents and strengths to benefit your team and then the company

Cons

Still in start up phase in some areas which means we're still blazing the trail so to speak...That isn't necessarily a bad thing but not everyone can work at a start up where you have to actually come up with the processes and expectations and training manuals, etc.

Great culture and strong products

Pros

Mission, vision and culture. The CEO/founder has a very strong vision for the company and it's mission, which is all about helping students succeed. I got that sense from the website as I prepared for my interview. But I've worked at enough companies to know that words on a website aren't always played out at the company. But there was consistency in my interviews and now that I'm here - people really are onboard with the mission. I think it's because so many of the employees are former educators. People are very friendly. Most people introduce themselves to you when you're new which is really nice when you're more of an introvert like me. The products are really strong from what I can tell. I get the sense that the sales team has a pretty easy sell because the customers are so impressed in the demo, they are falling over themselves to sign up. Kind of a nice problem to have. Other random things: healthcare premiums 100% company paid, healthy snacks, awesome coffee machine, gallons of flavored coffee creamer, great Mac laptops, lots of sports fans.

Cons

This is really a negative (at least not yet) but one interesting dynamic at the company is that a lot of people have "side jobs". For example, their job implementation at a school site but they also do some work on the website or run some regional events etc. The people who do this generally love the variety of their day to day so I'm guessing they think of this as a positive. But it will be interesting to see, as the company grows, if this is a scalable model (since my experience at larger companies is that people have more defined, narrow roles).
