Pros

Great pay at an extremely liberal Silicon Valley company

Cons

Extremely progressive and liberal policies. Pack your 1st amendment rights away and keep your mouth shut. Scary hiring process. Minimal onboard training. But, they pay for all lunches, have free beer and wine on tap. A very very typical silicone valley…California company. Beware!!

First off, thank you for the work you've done here at Illumio supporting our customers. It's their experience and success with our products and our company that reinforces the mission we're all on together. While I'm still new to the company and getting up to speed on our policies, what I've experienced so far aligns with two of core values of "build trust" and "leverage differences." Differences of opinion are not only welcomed here at Illumio, they're encouraged, as we know that a diversity of voices, experiences and ideas will make our products and our company stronger. And that openness to everyone who comes to our offices (virtual or in person) applies to everyone across the company, leadership included. If you'd be open to sharing more with me about where I can help in that area, please reach out anytime. Thanks, David Chief People Officer

Pros

- Great, friendly people and culture - Nice work life balance - Lovely office space and amenities - Feels like Illumio is constantly growing/improving - Illumio's starting to pivot towards more data-driven approaches - Under-performers don't last long here as everyone contributes to our company goals - Hard work is rewarded and recognized

Cons

- Same stuff you run into in SaaS/tech/cyber start-ups - No quarterly or yearly review program put in place - Could benefit from more career development programs/opportunities (but, we did just hold an internship program and a hackathon—so those are nice) - Some red tape but to be expected with a large start-up

Hi there and thanks so much for taking time to share your feedback - I'm glad to hear that the work that everyone across the company is putting in to build a culture where folks want to be is working! You're right that as we scale, we'll continue to take data-driven approaches to both strategy and execution across the business, and we'll support everyone to do their best work with clear goals and fair and balanced feedback (more to come on that front!) that helps us all grow and achieve together. Please keep the feedback coming, and don't hesitate to reach out directly to me or any of the People team for more ways that we can continue to improve as we scale! Thanks, David Chief People Officer

Pros

Good company culture that values employees. Unlimited Vacation is good but can be tricky to know how much is enough. Pro Services Leadership cares about employees, the company, and customers. Good benefits. Transparent communication from leadership

Cons

Hyper-focus in one product. Attempts to diversify product have been unsuccessful and lack true leadership that integrates new solutions across all fronts of Product, Sales, Engineering, Services, Support. The Product Team focuses on existing products. New products are created by an independent team that leverages the experience, feedback, and knowledge of existing product, but lacks true integration. Lacks some processes for engaging different teams. The tools exist, but concerns are dismisses unless you know the exact person to contact and convince to look at a customer issue.
