Pros

Remote work, work-life balance, competitive pay

Cons

Toxic and racist management, particularly in the professional learning department. Trickles from the top down. Frequent downsizing always starting with individuals of color.

Pros

Remote, good people, fairly good industry so you feel you’re contributing to a good cause

Cons

Not a well structured company, definitely just buying companies to use them up for 5 years and spit them out. Morale decrease after many layoffs. Not incredibly transparent, bad management, nepotism, bad communication, no advancement. Worth it to work a while, but you probably won’t learn much after the first year or so.

Pros

The people I worked with on our creative team were all talented, kind people.

Cons

None of our talents were used to the fullest extent, OR we were being given disorganized creative direction that would result in multiple revisions with improper communication. Higher ups above the art directors of our team were wishy washy on standardizing certain stylistic choices for our branded style guides for character, color and style direction. I was initially an illustrator, but also (like others on the team) were pulled in different directions to pickup slack from other parts of production, like layout/graphic design/print production, which is fine (since I had those skills to provide). Overall, it could have been a better experience if things were streamlined and the leadership was stronger, especially when it came to the dialogue and common sense discussed when cross-collaborating with art directions, our team, and the stakeholders. The chaos was not fun.
