A solid tech company

Pros

Great people to work with: bright, engaged, and easy-going. Thoroughly enjoyed working with everyone on my team. Good work/life balance: only occasionally for a deployment did I have to work on the weekend or for more than 40 hrs/wk. Company genuinely seems to care about their employees and want to improve their experience.

Cons

Middling pay and no annual bonus or stock to offset it. Tech and business domain isn't the most exciting. Sometimes it feels more like a construction company trying to do tech than the other way around. Little room for advancement (at least in my section of the organization).

Pros

*Employee first culture that assumes positive intent and fosters healthy interpersonal relationships across teams, the company acts on the belief that happy, healthy employees are productive employees and organizes work environment accordingly to great results. *Very positive work environment, hiring practices emphasize finding candidates that have overlapping values systems with the company culture and new hires are welcomed warmly and integrated fully into teams from day one with a wide range of expertise pitching in for onboarding. *Open door policy at all levels of management, HR easy to reach and personable *Clear mission and goal setting by management and product teams, enables development teams to focus on and effectively execute agile development process *Helpful and collaborative environment actively cultivated and protected I could see the following being a con, though for most, if not all, of my coworkers this is part of the fun. If the following doesn't sound negative to you, you'll likely fit in at InEight. You're going to wear a lot of hats and things move fast, but you're not left alone to figure it out. I have never been made to feel like a burden as I wrap my head around the complexities of the existing system. Asking for help is well received and encouraged, collaboration continues even with the workforce being remote for the time being. The bar is set high, but the terms of success are also very clearly outlined. The problems being solved are difficult, but also fun and engaging, and the software we are creating is desired, demonstratively practical, and useful.

Cons

Hard to find cons. Every one of my colleagues says this is one of the best places they've worked and so far my experience only further proves the rule. *The Portland office is downtown with headquarters in Arizona, so some of the benefits are not quite in line with other downtown companies as far as commuter/parking benefits, but HR has been proactive in recognizing that and shows desire to address some of those gaps.
