Pros

Job security. The work life balance is good and you accrue enough time off and personal time that it is always available to use when needed. Hours can be flexible depending on who you work for.

Cons

No room for growth unless you have a master's degree. Once you are in a position there, it is very difficult to move to another department unless you know someone. The jobs are very political and most often to get ahead you need to be connected.

Pros

Do not have to teach MBA classes. More time to focus on own research. One can expect a big raise in salary once published 1 to 2 papers in the top journals.

Cons

Have to teach undergraduate every semester and the undergraduate classes are relatively big.
