Pros

Laid back faculty, lax on work schedule, opportunities for personal research projects

Cons

No growth, HR is horrible, staff and hourly have no room to grow. raises are never given and they change your benefits package and value it with your salary, which makes it seem like you make way more than you actually do.

Pros

Overall quality of employees is excellent. Working conditions are pleasant. Salary is below average, but acceptable. Very good benefits package. Definite family atmosphere among colleagues at similar levels.

Cons

Initial training when assuming position is non-existent. Professional development opportunities provided, but avoided by top management. Support and training from supervisor is variable, and may focus on supervisor's personal agenda rather than job requirements. Performance evaluations may be based entirely on politics and ignore actual job performance. Corrective measures are sometimes vague or not attainable, e.g. demonstrate that you are a lifelong learner within the next 30 days.
