Pros

New management in Cloud team is very fair and each individual is very well recognized and rewarded for his/her work. New management is very knowledgeable in Software processes and always strives for new innovative ideas and concepts. The Cloud team is motivated under the guidance of management and Organization has great direction in alignment with company goals. I see myself working here for a long time and will definitely recommend this company and the Cloud Organization in particular for others.

Cons

Being honest, I don't see any downside here.

Pros

Outstanding reputation in the Data Management space with mature products and excellent customer support. Highly intelligent employee base with focus on teamwork. Large list of reference able Fortune 500 companies.

Cons

Recent acquisition by PE firm has caused some uncertainty among customers and employees. Data Management market has become highly competitive in recent years with many new, more nimble vendors offering similar solutions at significantly lower price points.

The uncertainty about our acquisition has been addressed by analysts such as Gartner and Forrester, and the consensus among them is that nothing has changed in terms of our strategy or ability to implement. As for our price competitiveness, we submit that that there are few, if any, MDM solutions out there that offer the range of capabilities we do, especially when it comes to the Cloud. Our growth in MDM has been running as high as double that of the industry as a whole according to Gartner, so customers must be seeing the value in our offering. Our new Chief Marketing Officer, Jim Davis, will unveil our latest marketing messaging at Informatica World 2016, coming May 23-26 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. Excited for Our Next Phase!

Pros

Recent new senior leadership hires are already beginning to revitalize the company. I have been here for almost two years, and it's finally feeling like there is a top-down, detailed approach to our next phase of growth. The shuffling of upper management after going private has helped break down many silos, and I'm finding that there is much stronger momentum in initiatives involving multiple business groups. On an individual level, there are many growth opportunities for those who want to push to advance their career. I have always felt like I had the support of my managers and peers to identify and pursue new projects. We have a lot of good people at Informatica - overall this is a great place to work!

Cons

I have heard the phrase "Billion Dollar Startup" tossed around internally multiple times. Sometimes, I think we lack the aggression that true "startup" culture has. We really need to inject this type of fuel into our culture if we want big growth. There is a larger-than-desired number of individuals in middle management roles who are completely coasting, and adding little value. Although understandable for a short time after we went private, being in "a time of change" is no longer an excuse for not pitching in. The passive attitude of some colleagues is really tough for those of us who want to push HARD and get big results for Informatica.
