Pros

Salary Very good Benefits package at affordable price (price varies with rank, lower price for lower rank) Employees get lot of options to choose project Full salary and benefits when on bench

Cons

Most common complaint in Infosys is its bench policy. They will call you after your interview saying that project is waiting for you, but when you join Infosys there will be no project, you will be put on bench, you'll get full salary and benefits (which I cant complain) but you will have to be on your toes like looking for a new job

Pros

The work at infosys with customers is interesting and very satisfying. Assuming you can keep yourself assigned to projects that appropriately align with your areas of expertise and career interests (which can sometimes be a challenge) you will enjoy the work you do for your clients.

Cons

Infosys' expense reimbursement policy is horrific, business travel for the company will cost you money out of pocket and understanding the policy is not going to happen as it is unclear and even when you request clarification from HR you are given different responses. Expenses are regularly reimbursed only partially and when you request the full amount it is rejected without fail regardless of how logical a business reason. The company seems to have no issues asking employees to travel and stay in unsafe hotels and lose money while traveling on the companies behalf. When issues are raised around HR policy (including expenses) they are frequently completely ignored or met with a response such as "It is very difficult to change things here"

Pros

Safety net for the job - Even if you perform miserably, you still can be assured of a place in the company. Mastering the system - You can get better performance review, if you know how to master the appraisal system without putting in real effort. No hardwork required to be in this company. You can just do with a handful of technical terms and google and you can win much in this company. The underlying theme is to know the right people and master the system. But if you do honest work, then you are likely to become a person that will be ignored by the management and the talents and skills that you have acquired in college are likely to be wasted.

Cons

This is a company that has moved away from its technical underpinnings and is increasingly becoming a sweatshop. Poor quality of hires and the huge amount of hires every year has lead to an explosion of population within the company that it has become hard to manage the hires and reward and nurture them properly. If you want to enter this company, the best way to do it is not to enter it as a software engineer but to enter it after you have finished a degree in management so that you can get a position that you will not be stuck in.
