Pros

Above average pay and benefits. Solid business and leader in their industry. Can move around in the company but the workload will take its toll on you

Cons

Workload is very stressful. 1 person usually doing the job of 5 in other companies. Good place to work if you have no family and are a workaholic. If your willing to sacrifice family time, then you will be happy.

Pros

Stable employment and good 401k match. Other benefits are mediocre. Not a bad place to start your career if you can't get a job else where.

Cons

Poorly managed innovation efforts. Senior management is not receptive. No focus on career growth potential for employees and no transition plans. You see lot of people get interviewed but no one takes the job and so the job remains posted for years. The result is you get to see lot of people with no technical or people skills get promoted. High turn over and at least someone in the site will be leaving almost every week. Poorly paid compared to other industries in the same sector for chemical engineers. Poor local HR policies for the site and no standard policies.

Pros

You get a lot of autonomy if you want it. Freedom and flexibility to manage your own schedule for the most part. Decent salaries, benefits are average and comparable to most other places.

Cons

Despite doing everything asked and expected, and even exceeding those expectations, you'll only get ahead if the "optics" are right. They talk a lot about development, but at the end of the day, the only thing that gets you ahead is whether your boss gets noticed, rewarded, etc. I suppose you could just manage your career by making the boss look good. But if you try to manage your career by being focused on adding value for the company, delivering on strategic and operational goals, and doing the right thing for your people, you're really just wasting your time. The culture has become demoralizing, disappointing, and exasperating.
