Decent place for inhospitable EMT’s

Pros

The pay is low for the work we do but high compared to other hospitals (as far as I know). You work 3 12 hour shifts a week (7 am-7pm, 11 am-11 pm, 3:30 pm-3:30 am, or 7 pm-7am). You pick what days/hours you work which is extremely convenient. Staffing is decent to the point where staff are often given the option to go home early with the additional option of using their pto to fill in the missing hours. Lots of bonus shifts with an additional $250 bonus if you pick it up.

Cons

Overall the base pay is extremely low for the work done. I’ve been assaulted/threatened by patients on multiple occasions as have many coworkers. The environment is pretty dirty and hectic due to the number of patients we see daily. Patients are often rude or disrespectful because of issues out of our control. If the pay was increased and the department was expanded to properly treat the number of patients we have I would give it 4-5 stars.

Shift are 13 hour and they have ok benefits

Cons

They dont care about the techs.. nurses call you for everything i mean everything they have some of the laziest nurses i have ever seen and they don't ever give you a raise for the amount of work you do Inova doesn't car about there employees. all they care about is money in there pockets
