I am writing this review because I pray that no one else experiences what I had to endure while working with INOVA urgent care. I have had a lot of experience working in healthcare with wonderful supervisors and accessible management, but this was not the case while at INOVA. You will be poorly trained to do your job well and end up receiving harsh words from healthcare providers on a daily basis because of that. Very strict schedule, no flexibility - so do not plan on doing anything else except working. Work hours extend longer than the 12 hour workday - you will be at the center on average 14 hours/day every shift, sometimes even longer. Very low pay. Very very toxic work environment; my manager would ignore me on several occasions while in the facility and did not at all seem interested in communicating with me verbally upon me submitting my two weeks notice. Healthcare providers would gossip about each other and about employees' work habits. Healthcare providers also carried a lot of prejudice towards certain patients that visited the facility. HR is also not accessible and does not seem interested in helping to improve an employee's work experience with the company. If you are looking for a positive work environment to gain clinical skills from an approachable and supportive management team, run! It will be for the safety of your mental/emotional health to protect yourself from feeling defeated and broken down after each shift.
