Clinical staff (nurses and techs) are not valued by management. Employees are essentially warm bodies that can get tasks done. Very frequently short staffed with little or no effort to improve this problem. Upper level management will occasionally breeze through the department with some sort of "treat" (ice cream sandwiches) in an attempt to improve morale which the majority of us find insulting to our intelligence. Lots of bureaucracy and red tape, very little thinking outside of the box. Pay is woefully low considering the cost of living in this area. Upper level administration makes exorbitant salaries/bonuses and for what? Nauseating culture of using and abusing nurses while the 9-5'ers keep their heads buried in the sand as they cash their six figure checks. Wake up Inova, you would not exist if it weren't for the nurses that provide the care for the masses.
