      Inova's heart is in the right place

      Pros

      It seems like people really are trying to make things better. I have never felt that a decision was made maliciously. It's healthcare so of course the emphasis right now is to save money, but there haven't been any large-scale, staff-level layoffs in my tenure.

      Cons

      Your personal experience as an employee depends on your direct leader. For me, it's wonderful, but I've heard first hand from others that they don't have the same experiences I have.

      Pros

      Inova is financially stable, located in an excellent market and in an industry with strong growth. As a veritable monopoly, Inova enjoys little competitive pressure.

      Cons

      Lack of a clear mission. The organization continues to undergo regular reorganization - about every tow to three years there are major leadership changes that can dissrupt anyone looking for growth opportunity. The current permutation is a flattening of management - good for new hires, very unsettling for mid- level managers
