Pros
I enjoy what I do and the worker bees I work with. Vacation days are good when you are with the company for a long time and days of for holiday’s are comparable to other organizations.
Cons
Health benefit package could be better. Very difficult to get a decent raise each year. Upper management tells lower management to lower scores on performance reviews so people get less of a raise. Raises are given on sort of a curve. In a group of employees a predefined number of employees will get a 5% raise, next group 4%, then 3..2..1. For example, If there are 20 in all, the top 3 will get the 5%, the next 3 will get the 4%, the next 4 will get 3%, then next 4 will get 2%, the next 4 will get 1% and the remaining will not get a raise. So you are NOT getting a raise on your true performance and in essence you are competing with fellow workers. If everyone on the team is truly exceptional and works very hard every day some still are not rewarded as they should. Can be stressful at times, can no longer speak freely. Free thinkers are deemed nonconformist. There are people who are managers who shouldn’t be. Some are bullies and will not listen to those who have been there longer and know more. Some are promoted because of who they are friends with. The company practices DE&I yet it truly divides people. DE&I is political and has no place in the workplace.
