Pros

Nothing to write Much as I agree with most of the -ve comments . No technology knowledge so I don't understand if someone write -"Nice place to work for new thing " .. I never saw anything happening here.. But want to share my vision:- CEO- Current CEO does lot of talk but he is having tough battle. If he is serious then he needs to cut top Mgmt first but he is doing exactly what ex-CEO did. Fully packed executives and no ground engineers to deliver CTO - I dis-agree if someone says that new CTO is better but in my view, he is the worst we can ever had. CFO - Very energetic and smart individual and looks back-bone. CMO - New google employee . Never saw something special since last 6 months .

Cons

Pls count on your finger :- 1. Highly paid executive but apart from few, rest are hopeless for sure, 2. Very poor VP/Sr. Directors - No idea how to differentiate best/worst . Meeting over meeting over meeting. .No technology ideas what so ever ,they are still in NVTL because no one will take them. 3. There used to be some good engineer way back in 2011-2012 but then its over. Existing engineers are just following the previous work and they will struggle to find a job if laid off. 4. Customers are upset because NVTL cant deliver quality products. more to write but this will give you pretty good idea what I am talking,

Could be a great place to work

Pros

The current CEO is a high energy, veritable factory of bold ideas. Through product and market space changes, and through acquisitions he seems to be making some headway in moving the company from the brink of closing to profitability. Pay and benefits are average; long and short term disability are provided as part of your package, but there is no paid sick leave and no 401k matching. Through the lean times the company has maintained a bonus program, which has made up for years of no raises. The hours vary with the project on which you're working. 8-9 hour days can be the norm, but much longer hours are expected depending on the situation. The company 'culture' is not one of "us verses them", but rather there is genuine free access to discuss issues with management.

Cons

Twenty consecutive quarters of bleeding red ink all over the balance sheet has resulted in years of perpetual layoffs, no raises and slashed benefits. The new CEO has made great strides in moving the company from huge quarterly losses to small quarterly losses, but has yet to deliver a quarter in the black. The company seems poised to close the Richardson office (Enfora); or at least all the same things that happened to the Calgary office before it was closed are being done to the Richardson office. The company uses Jack Welch's method of motivation through fear, rather than motivation through reward. Jack laid off (and replaced) a full 10% of his upper management every year, in hopes of motivating the other 90% to work harder/smarter. At Novatel the upper management lays off a much smaller percentage of non-upper management each year in hopes of motivating those that remain. BTW: those layoffs are in addition to the ones caused by loosing money.

Multiple layoffs over the past two years cast a shadow over the work environment.
