Pros

- Casual dress code - Nice people to work with - Flexible work hours - Latest development tools

Cons

- Developers should be given more work from home opportunity. There is really no reason for us to come to the office as much as we do. Team dynamics is often a hyped-up topic, especially when it comes to how software developers work. Sure, it's important, but let's not forget about the people that feel extremely unproductive being surrounded by noise, extreme AC, fluorescent light, and the expectation that you're at your desk most of the time. - Company doesn't seem to have a good vision - Snacks aren't renewed in a timely manner. We've gone without snacks for over two months, and sadly it's 99% unhealthy food and drinks. - Compensation is below Houston standards. One can easily make $10-20K more working somewhere else. - Internet network is extremely prohibitive. I've seen legitimate websites blocked. No idea why. - Fun activities seem to be very limited. - Boring office space - IT is run by people without interesting technical backgrounds. This is not a software company even though it seems we have a software app for every product. - Kingwood is a rather boring place to live in - Newcomers will have a hard time fitting in unless they initiate conversation with others and ask for help (Mentoring and training opportunities are limited.)

Entry level job with a fancy title

Pros

Learned to take my time and read Glassdoor before taking any job

Cons

Entry level job sold with a fancy title and promise of making real money. Looks really good on the surface till you dig in. Select few will do well because they are given everything incoming. (Everyone in sales mentions this, so don't be surprised when you notice it's true.) Nobody will teach you anything. If you learn you cant be used as a telemarketer anymore. You are there to create opportunities for the long term people. Revolving door in sales due to the lies they feed people during the recruitment process. Model is designed to bring in high level talent to do entry level work and you help feed the lazy people. You sell some stuff, you leave and they keep your measly residuals. Every office has a couple fat and happy, one or two office favorites and the rest are chumps. Same pattern in just about every office.
