Pros

THE WORST PLACE I’VE EVER WORKED!

Cons

Terrible culture - “we take care of our people” is a joke. Forced to quit due to an unsafe, hostile environment. Contradicting messages from leadership, passive aggressive District Managers, inappropriate conversations from teammates in office reported to HR and not taken serious but then talked about around the office. Very negative energy when in office. Totally misrepresented the pay in interview. You will not make more then the below industry base for at least 3 years . That’s if you can last that long in a really micromanaged unhealthy environment. If you get a deal you are forced to split it with senior rep. No lead system they expect you to use your own network- sink or sink. Wouldn’t wish this evil place on anyone.

Pros

On the surface (and initially during the “honeymoon” phase of being employed), the culture at the Insperity Kingwood HQ *appears* to be great, but the reality is completely different once you’ve been there for even just a couple months. I thought I would really like it here based on the interviews, but soon came to see the dysfunctional religious cult this company is. Cult is the only way to describe it – and many other reviews describe the same sentiment that I experienced. The HQ offices are nice, and the benefits are decent, though.

Cons

There is a strong culture of fear & enormous pressure to be perfectly perfect in every way. They are very quick to judge and will let people go very quickly without giving them a chance to demonstrate their full potential – I saw this happen many times during my tenure there. It was a very cutthroat environment & I soon learned that people do not have your back & are not what they appear on the surface. If you do not fit the cultish, religious mold that they think you should you will definitely not fit in here. At all. It was like the “Stepford Wives” of companies in terms of culture. Everyone appears “perfect” and you have to “act perfect” but behind the scenes they will undermine you every step of the way if they don’t think you fit in with them. They will make it so uncomfortable for you that you eventually feel pushed out. The expectations are unreasonably high which adds tremendous pressure. I hold myself to very high standards (a classic perfectionist over-achiever), and yet I felt like I never measured up at Insperity. You are told that they value work/life balance, but at the same time are expected to be perfect, act perfect, perform perfect and produce perfect work – and that takes a significant amount of time & effort to pull off. It was mentally exhausting to work here. I have always been a super star in other places I worked, yet I was made to feel "less than" which was very strange & disheartening for me – I’ve never experienced anything like it, either before or after working here. This company has a strong reputation for running off good talent, especially if management feels threatened by you in any way. Unfortunately, the management has mostly been here for years & years, so the same culture is perpetuated - it does not change. You can read reviews from 10-15 years ago & they would still describe the culture of today. It's ironic that an HR service company doesn't know how to do HR well or foster a positive work environment. I'm still friends with many former Insperity employees & most everyone left for the same reasons - bad culture & overbearing management. This department I worked in (Service Operations) was very cliquey and “Stepford Wivey”, and I observed that other departments were the same way. Again, how people “appeared” on the surface was not who they truly were. I felt that I could not trust anyone at this company which is ultimately why I chose to leave. They also have high nepotism which creates an extremely dysfunctional culture & many conflicts of interests when many family members are sprinkled throughout the company. Very political/religious environment & you better mind your Ps & Qs 100% of the time, because if you dare make one mistake or deviate from their rigid expectations, you will be targeted and forced out. Most of the people at HQ go to the same church, and if you aren’t in their club, you will not ever fit in here – and sadly, you will feel it.
