Pros

I learned more about teaching and about all of the varying disabilitites working at inspire than i ever did in all my years of studying special education in college. The people that work there are wonderful, the children give you a reason to show up to work every day, and the work you do is rewarding. If you are looking for a job that is going to open the door to special education this is it. An awesome reume builder for future teachers, gives you great experience, and is the best learning experience you can get. There is a wide variety of classrooms, and I had the opportunity to experience each one. I learn about ABA, VB, inclusion, sever and multiple disabilities, full day, half day..everything under the sun. Overall, a great place to work!

Cons

There is a high turn-around rate. I found that the people that work there stay for a few months or stay for years. You might be thrown into a classroom you don't know a lot about and if you aren't willing to learn you won't succeed...you really need to want to be there. The pay was not great when I was there, I know they were working out a new contract though. My thing is that you need no education to work there, so you aren't going to make as much as a teacher with a masters degree...that's how it works. The average pay is well worth the experience you will gain.
