Pros

You gain a solid working method and learn from the inside how a multilateral institution operates. Because it is such a large organization with a wide variety of professional backgrounds, you are exposed to different perspectives and approaches to addressing issues

Cons

The work environment is not always the best. It is a highly competitive place, which in itself would not be negative, but it is common to encounter colleagues who take this competitiveness to a toxic level. Additionally, the transition from consultant to staff is a complicated process.

Pros

After the second year, employees receive a 9% savings contribution, which is a great long-term benefit. Generous vacation policy: 24 days off per year, which supports work-life balance. International and diverse work environment, with opportunities to collaborate across regions.

Cons

There is no health leave policy (sick leave is not officially recognized or paid). Flexibility highly depends on your supervisor — some are supportive, others much less so. The health insurance stipend is very low compared to actual healthcare costs. Limited opportunities for internal mobility or promotion, especially for consultants and temporary staff.
