Pros

Half way decent pay, depending on what post you get (Industry standard I guess), dedicated master seat on the schedule (If you're lucky enough to land a full time position), and they won't schedule you for a post you're not trained for.

Cons

They hire too many flex officers so they don't have to payout overtime (more flex officers = no open posts so they don't have to schedule anyone overtime), they give you ABSOLUTELY ZERO NOTICE if your attendance violations get you moved into a flex officer position (they won't terminate you until you hit 20 points, but will strip you of your master seat and stuff you in a pool of officers fighting for hours until your points expire), and dispatch is an absolute nightmare to deal with if you need anything fixed with your schedule.

Pros

It's like any other high-temperature security company. You get what you put into it. You do well, and you'll likely move up the ladder quickly; the pay is also great.

Cons

You move around a lot, and the schedule never stays the same. So it's hard to plan a life outside of Intercon.

Pros

Salary, Clearance, and that's about it

Cons

Imagine a dumpster Fire, and no matter how much water you put on it, the fire keeps growing. Thats Inter-Con in a nutshell Let's start with Training. You literally have to pay to train. You spend two weeks in the Middle Of Nowhere, WV . Your options are either commute back in forth or shell out a couple hunder bucks for a hotel... and they don't reimburse you for it unless you live outside the National Capitol Region (NCR) I'm convinced that the management, Scheduling, and operations team is just 3 monkeys banging on pots and pans that collectively have two braincells, that never work at the same time. This place is an absolute joke of an organization. The company as a whole does not care about the wellbeing of their officers. If you were to croak at work they would probably show up to your funeral to write you up for not calling out properly. They only care about their bottom dollar because they consistenently underbid the contract everytime it comes up for re-bidding. They hire you for "Full Time" but your first 9 months are considered probationary, and you're not gurranteed 40 hours. Then they blow up your phone asking you to cover shifts that they need covered. However, good luck trying to pick up shifts because the process is a circus ran by monkeys. You have to call a phone number, leave a voicemail, capture a unicorn, and then bring back the holy grail and then MAYBE they'll call you back with the shift you wanted to pick up. If you want to overtime FORGET ABOUT IT. You only get overtime when it benefits them. They consistently have people that call off, and their solution is to hold you over until they find someone to come relieve you. Oh and if your refuse the holdover they will write you up and suspend you for up to 5 days. But then they'll still call you to pick up shifts.. ( See Previous paragraph for picking up shifts) They paint this pretty picture of bonuses and opportunity but God Forbid you tie your shoes wrong they will write you up and there goes your bonus. The ONLY upside to this job is they sponsor a TS clearance and the pay is solid. Starting out at about $87K there is definitely money to be made. BLUF: If this review didn't deter you and you still wanna apply here Follow these simple instructions 1. Get your money 2. Get Your Clearnance 3. LEAVE
