Pros

Good pay for an easy job. It’s great if you’re not social or if you don’t like to be around friends/family for the holidays. Or if you like to work weekends.

Cons

Bad management… super easy to get fired… you’re just a body to fill a spot for where they need you… the schedule is terrible sometimes you have to fight with the operations to get more hours cause they scheduled you low hours. New officers don’t make the full pay until a year of working at the company. You don’t have consistent time off. You could work Monday Tuesday, have off Wednesday work Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday it’s never the same. They constantly mess up your paychecks to include the times you didn’t get a meal break but they still take it out of your check and they mess up the bonus pay per the wrong amount. Constantly changing policy’s and parking standards. The company was great when overnight shift worked 7 days and had the next 7 days off, you would only work half the year. Now I work every weekend.

Pros

The pay is good only when you have hours.

Cons

Where do I start……you aren’t guaranteed any hours. I went over 9 months and have never received 40 hours a week. Some weeks I didn’t even work. Couldn’t pay bills. You don’t get insurance. They take the lowest plan from Aetna and then cut that in half. Most sergeants and higher ranking supervisors don’t know what is going on. They just sit there and make up there own rules. You have to pay for training and if you are by yourself it could add up to over $3k. They take your first few checks away from you because even if you don’t stay in the hotel provided for training they already schedule you there. Probation is 9 months. You are not guaranteed a clearance as they say. A lot of officers aren’t told that there was a pause in the investigation or if they lost their fingerprints. The scheduler has favorites and will literally send you home to have one of her friends work your post. Pay went from $40 to $30 and nobody was told. You have to get to work an hour and a half early. You have to pay for parking everyday. This job doesn’t help you retire.

Pros

You May meet some decent people to struggle with in your experience with them

Cons

The recruitment team is the worst I’ve ever seen in my life. They lie about everything just to get you to commit to work here! Then peacemaker training is for a month and they lie as well and during your recruitment process up to your 1 month training they lie and will be the most unorganized employer you’ve ever dealt with in your life! They informed us we would be staying in the hotel (for all the commuters) then had us sign contracts to turn around and lie and now magically say we don’t honor that agreement anymore after telling us to resign from our already steady jobs! So we had no housing and no communication with the recruiters since they ghosted us for weeks leading to the training HOURS away/ out of town from our respected homes.
