Pros

Incredible opportunities to work on many challenging problems in an ever changing environment. Kind and forward thinking Engineering leadership who look to support and take bets on good people and are willing to forgive mistakes - even big ones. Unbelievable and infectious personal growth mindset culture. Most who have been around for a while have got significantly more accomplished at many things over a short time. Approachable Senior Leadership. Flexible career progression with plentiful opportunity to work across different teams and even different roles. Most folks are both very smart AND get a lot of stuff done. Problem solving culture centred on having business impact. Rarely a dull moment - you will never be bored. :) Things can fundamentally change in days not months. Solid comp including great benefits for those with families. Free meals. Nice office.

Cons

Things can fundamentally change in days not months. :) Often a lot of balls in the air in many different contexts meaning sometimes slow progress on many things vs rapid progress on few things. Not a great place if you like a nice cheese board with breakfast.

A personal growth mindset is a key part of our values and I’m glad to hear you’ve felt that in the work you’ve done and people you’ve collaborated with. We’re solving real problems for our customers and the work your and other teams are doing is incredible.

Pros

Intercom is a caring, thoughtful and high quality place to work. The problems being solved are meaningful. and there's a strong bond and sense of purpose between what is being built and Intercom's company's mission and values. Intercom truly takes care of its employees, encouraging people to work smart and hard during office hours, and not pulling off long hours to meet commitments. The ambition and talent of the leadership team, along with a compelling vision and being treated well make Intercom a great place to work.

Cons

Sometimes engineers switch around teams a bit too often, which has some advantages but can reduce institutional knowledge and depth in some fields.
