Pros

Intercom is an awesome place to work! The colleagues are fantastic, and the culture is welcoming and diverse. People work well together, support each other, and have fun. It's not just a job; it's a community where everyone feels valued and included.

Cons

Starting might not be easy; however, they help you in every possible way to succeed in your desired role.

Pros

Love my teammates - customer support is emotionally draining work but having a good team really helps. Great benefits, decent pay (good not great).

Cons

8hr 45min shift - that extra 45 minutes really adds up. It’s a numbers game, and you’re not really credited for the hard work that you put in if you don’t meet your quota. Very discouraging. Eoghan is very very out of touch. After every company wide meeting, he encourages people to leave if they’re not fully aligned or excited to come to work. He fundamentally does not understand the culture of the company that he’s now managing, and was expecting things to change with the snap of a finger. For the record, he took a leave of absence after being investigated for sexual assault/harassment of employees. The changes that he’s made have hurt performance and product quality. Change is not bad, his changes are bad. Also, he clearly favors/values the sales/marketing teams more than the other teams. Makes sense, but the quality of our product is waning. Good sales pitches cannot cover for a crap product. He curses a lot during All Hands meetings to seem cool, but I don’t think he actually knows what he’s doing or where he wants to take the company - his language seems like an effort to mask that. I don’t think anyone wakes up WANTING to work customer support, but he has the expectation that everyone be as excited as him - which is impossible, since he makes more money in a day that I do in a month and no one is ever as excited as the founder lol. Really though, I think he wants people to leave so he doesn’t have to give ‘em severance. He has a passion for money disguised as a passion for tech - and ultimately it’s going to lead the company to the ground.
