Pros

Structured firm with 2-day intensive training prior to first day start ! Sustainable and challenging projects (if you are assigned to one). Plenty of projects in the forecast.

Cons

Promises not realized. Poor communication of upper management and employees (yelling is normal). No annual performance review. non-competitive salaries. Some clients dictate the design for engineers! Long expense reimbursement process(a month is normal). Inconsistent work/life balance activities. As a senior engineer, don't expect to learn more than you know already because the expectation is for you to complete as many projects as possible and mentor as many junior engineers as possible instead.

Pros

Interface has a lot of experienced engineers and is generally a well-run organization. People are generally willing to share information and answer questions. The company does a good job of providing a fun and positive work environment.

Cons

Compensation seems to be a little lower than some of the other firms in Portland.
