Pros

They tend to bring in very smart, fun, and passionate people; I really enjoyed working with the majority of the people there, with a few very important exceptions. Benefits are mostly good, office is very attractive and in a convenient location in DC.

Cons

Your experience will probably depend on what team you're on. A couple of observations from working there over a long period of time: "start up culture" tends to actually mean "overtime and lack of work/life balance are rewarded"; "inappropriate/‘locker room’ communication style"; "team building often revolves around heavy drinking"; etc. Some clique-y behavior and politics exist behind the scenes. Several of the men in authority positions, including the CEO, can be very thoughtless and inappropriate with their language with a blatant lack of consequences. I used to really love working there but my experience as a female employee degraded over time and ultimately led to my departure. Your mileage may vary depending on your tolerance for such things. Pay is also not really competitive in my experience -- they seem to push the culture as being more important than pay.

Interfolio Response

Thank you for your feedback and your candor. At Interfolio, we have taken great strides to demonstrate our commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace as well as equitable treatment of all employees. For example, we have created a Women in Technology group as a resource to our female staff providing opportunities both internally and externally for support, engagement and growth. We provide sexual harassment training, and additional training regarding appropriate behaviors in the workplace. Moreover, we convene career reviews of all staff and leadership twice annually to provide consistent coaching and feedback associated with managing one’s professional career - regularly providing feedback relating to one’s contributions to our organizational objectives and values, departmental objectives, and professional growth objectives. Additionally, we have a female EEO officer and more than half of our leadership team are women. While no company can be perfect, and issues may arise – I absolutely believe that Interfolio has a strong scaffolding in place to ensure a fun, enjoyable, equitable and productive environment with great opportunities for growth and learning. We do not tolerate nor condone harassment, bias or insensitivity of any kind. As you can see in our organizational values, we strive for equity, diversity, peer review & critique, challenging the status quo, radical transparency and service to the community. To the extent we fall down on any of these, we learn, iterate and strive to improve. I am sorry that we let you down. Tess Frazier - EEO Officer

Pros

Interfolio is a great place to work. This is an understatement- it is a fantastic place to work. Words cannot describe the amount of hard work, passion, and integrity that goes into our incredibly innovative products. I've seen these characteristics firsthand, in-person, every day at our company since I've been here. In addition, I have received the utmost amount of respect from my superiors working here at Interfolio. It is a fun and uplifting place to work at; and my sales representative position offers great incentives, room for growth, and all the guidance you could need. My co-workers are all friendly, and we are offered amazing perks. I have to also add major props to our CEO, who I personally see in our office every day, and who has guided myself and my colleagues so efficiently and expertly in our daily operations. What more can I say? This is a wonderful place to work at. I truly believe one would be hard-pressed to find a more accepting, hard-working, creative, and dedicated workplace, especially in the DC area. All in all, I am very grateful and blessed to have been offered the opportunity to work here.

Cons

I have not encountered any downsides so far during my time at Interfolio.

Pros

-Great place to start your career. -Smart, talented people who care about the company mission. -Highly collaborative and supportive environment. -Leadership really cares and takes employee feedback seriously. -Good benefits and generous time off policy. -Company solves important problems in the Higher Ed space. -Exciting start up culture with lots of growth in the last few years.

Cons

-Virtually non existent onboarding program. -Struggles to maintain engineering resources causing product friction in a very finite market. -Few sales team members hitting quota each year, causing lots of turn over on that team. -Company struggles to accurately measure customer interest and engagement but is actively trying to improve. -Professional development and career growth paths are few and far between but something the company is starting to focus more on addressing.
