At IRMI we take great pride in creating a family-like and friendly environment in which everyone is valued and treated with respect. We know we cannot succeed without a great team, and we appreciate everyone’s contributions. We also want everyone to share their ideas and suggestions. Because of these values IRMI has had high morale and low turnover over the years. See, for example, this infographic that is based on one of our periodic employee surveys: http://www.irmi.com/about/companyinfo/top-10-reasons-to-work-at-irmi.pdf I can think of countless times where we implemented employee suggestions and ideas. The most recent is our office move for which we received a substantial amount of input. Everyone wanted openness and light without being in a cube farm. This was challenging, but we achieved it by putting everyone in a personal workspace and having large sidelight windows to let in light. Additionally we located the well-appointed break room on the outer windows to provide a bright and cheery environment for dining or taking a break. We recently created an innovation task force to determine ways for us to do an even better job soliciting, vetting, and implementing employee ideas and suggestions. Do we value all of our people? Absolutely! Do we want to hear their great ideas and implement the best of them? Of course! Are we perfect at this? Certainly not, but we work at it. Can we implement every idea or suggestion made by an employee? No, that isn’t feasible, but we do try to identify the best ones and put them into action. This poster apparently expressed an idea on which we didn’t act and is now frustrated. This concerns me. When someone joins IRMI I meet with them personally to show that I value them and to open a line of communication between us. I wish this person would come have a conversation with me about their frustrations so that we could have an opportunity to rectify the problem. My door is always open to anyone at IRMI, and I’m ready to listen. Jack P. Gibson President & CEO
