This could be specific team @ Intuit. Team was developing supporting services for intuit products in CTODev.
-Contractors are treated as second citizen. Not invited even for team lunches/events.
-Culture seems like, let contractor figure out what needs to worked on as well as how.
-You only interact with lead. And other folks point to him/her even if you are stuck.
-If lead takes vacation, no one even cares to assign any work to you or give you context about work even if they know.
-Team members create tasks for each other in 4 hour looooong spring planning. No architect, product manager, program manager or even manager involved in sprint planning. Team releases software whenever they feel right. No set schedule. No tight deadline.
-Culture to hide flaws or not talk about it. QAs are told not to file bugs.
-Everyone knows it's far from perfect, still no one talks about improving openly.
-Manager hardly comes to office and not involved in hiring process or that matter any thing to do with working with contractor except terminating contract abruptly (no notice, no in-person talk) while lead was on vacation.
