A great place to work if you're in the right business unit

Lots of career growth opportunity. Company really invests in the employees. A change to do real enterprise level work. Great benefits and flexibility Good people to work with.

Cons

Intuit overall is great but not all leaders in all business units follow the Intuit way. This leaves you watching other Intuit people get to operate one way while you may be stuck doing things completely different. Intuit still uses the stacked ranking system for performance reviews. This means if you end up working with a group where all are very talented and productive you or someone will get a lesser review because "there's just no way everyone can be that good"

Excellent benefits but poor middle management

Pros

Excellent medical, dental and eye benefits. Opportunity to learn new technology. Co-workers are friendly, intelligent and helpful. Offices allow quiet work environment and increased productivity. Excellent gym and clean, pleasant campus.

Cons

Middle management can form wrong opinions about employees, overreact, criticize instead of giving constructive feedback, and don't ask enough questions. It can be discouraging! You don't want to speak up about anything to management or they will hold it against you. Middle management wants everyone to be a cheerleader every day and every minute. If you don't appear excited then management thinks you are not committed. Some managers micro-manage and give you a day to day and hour to hour schedule. If you are lucky you will get a manager who is not so structured. Also too many layers of management. The widely praised work-life balance varies on the project you are working on and the goals set by your manager. Not a lot of staff engineers. It takes years to reach that level.

There are some bright people who care about doing good work.

Cons

The leadership is very weak, and the most fundamental business principles are not followed. Some top level men are rewarded for coming up with dreams that are not grounded in reality, and there is no consequence if the company wastes money following stupid dreams and plans that don't materialize into anything. Thoughtful, methodical approaches to running a business are not valued.
