Pros

Stable company in a shaky economy. Good benefits, alright gimmes, albeit with stink of ulterior motive at times. Not bad.

Cons

Miscommunication is commonplace, as is lack of communication of important changes. False communication is common as well; for example, encouraging "speaking up" in meetings, just to be heard, but regardless of substance.

Pros

Great benefits. The health benefits are especially great. Vision is one of the best. Period. Salaries are well above other call centers and most companies.

Cons

Politics reign at Intuit. Performance management and promotions are based off whom you know and whether others like you NOT actual performance. Morale and employee engagement have been steadily declining for the past five years. This can be seen by the decline in Fortune best places to work ranking over the past few years. Employee survey results are reviewed by management team and they blame the employees for any bad response. Accountability is lacking. Senior management treats people as commodities with an utter lack of professionalism or common courtesy.

Pros

1) Benefits, especially medical are outstanding. 2) Employees are talented and easy to work with; most are dedicated to providing the customer with an outstanding experience. 3) Workplace flexibility (work at home, etc) is excellent, but can depend on your group/boss.

Cons

1) Some features in products are implemented simply to get a checkoff item on the "box". Then they are left for years in an unsophisticated state. 2) There's much talk of social/mobile/global, but little concrete implementation and integration into existing products. 3) Very slow to adopt new technologies for existing products. 4) People are running scared due to many layoffs in the last year partly due to acquisitions. The philosophy seems to be to dismiss existing talented employees in favor of keeping employees obtained through acquisitions. In doing so, much information is lost. This slows down development and the customer ultimately suffers.
