Pros

1, top scientists, top researchers whom you can learn from. 2, cafeteria in which you can grab food anytime. 3, unlimited PTO.

Cons

1, IonQ did a great job in research but an awful one in marketing. It seems the managers do not care about the market trend and the need of IonQ's customers. 2, The whole facility is more like a research center, a national lab or a collage, rather than a company. People have a mysterious confidence that if only their technology is advanced enough, their services will be welcome anywhere. However, this is not the case. 3, the revenue is dropping every season and the stock price is declining too.

Pros

Interesting misson and some talented individuals to work alongside.

Cons

IonQ aquired the company I used to work for. The company culture and employee experience changed significantly and, in my experience, not for the better. I was terminated during a restructuring while on protected maternity leave. There was no prior indication that my role was at risk and no meaningful communication leading up to it. The termination was delivered via video call, followed by two weeks of severance. This occurred during an already extremely difficult personal time, and there was no acknowledgment of that context in how the situation was handled.

Pros

The vast majority of people who work here are very intelligent. The different in average employee intellectual horsepower at IonQ vs other tech companies is very noticeable. The tech & the mgmt team are the real deal. These are some of the most accomplished and capable people in the industry. We are getting very tangibly close to this stuff becoming real-world useful. The broader team is inspired by the audacious mission of the company.

Cons

Workload can get really chaotic and unpredictable sometimes. Project timelines change, stuff hits the fan and requires all-hands-on-deck to put out a fire, and sometimes long hours are required to get aggressive goals over the finish line. A lot of people aren't cut out for this. Know what you're signing up for. Not for the faint of heart.
