Really poor execution from Exec Leadership. The mission is great but it’s lost the moment you begin working there. Responsible use of our gas, water, and electricity is something many folks will get behind, but once you start working the entire focus becomes profit and Wall Street expectations. The stock has under performs for years but the board hasn’t yet held the execs accountable.

Management can depend where you work. Either managers are great and supportive or terrible, bullies. Someone else from operations wrote about SOP and SOE and that was on point: if they can’t find someone to blame and flame in front of everyone, they will blame process, which has lots of gaps. Some middle managers are all about CYA and it can feel like your vying for the teacher’s pet in high school: favoritism can be a problem. I have talked with co-workers who were reduced to tears by their micromanaging and overbearing managers.
