Pros

Fun atmosphere, good (or decent) discount on clothes, excellent if you are looking to work in a professional, fast-paced environment, empowerment in regards to customer service & assistance in certain situations, company growth brings some excitement to the product

Cons

Poorly scheduled hours, lack of communication from management at times in regards to changes in policy & inventory, shortage of salespeople and/or cashiers at crucial peak hours (due to poor scheduling & foresight), high pressure on sales staff (and cashiers, even) to meet daily goals that are at times unrealistic, very demanding schedule during holidays & peak weekends with a shortage of regular hours due to "On Calls", fair amount of pressure to purchase clothes from week to week, work is at times shrugged off by both full-time sales staff & management with no consideration to sales support or cash wrap staff, pay is par for the course (slightly over minimum wage), at times there is no chance/moment to pause to catch your breath or to grab a drink of water (as the level of activity & traffic in the store tends to be somewhat overwhelming during peak hours)

Pros

The J.Crew distribution center is a great place to build up your resume if your looking for experience. You are constantly engaged with customers from all over the U.S. and must quickly solve customer conflicts on a daily basis. This position also helps with communication skills, as you are on the phone through the duration of your shift. Proper usage of words and verifying important information is something you can take to any position you looking for in the future.

Cons

Some of the management staff may look like they are not doing much. Their main purpose is to assist you if you have any major questions, which is helpful the first week on the call center floor. After that first week however, you may see them shooting the breeze with other associates while you are bombarded with customer calls. They are a great help, but it may be smarter to have conversations that are non-work related away from working associates.
