Pros

Lovely product, lovely clients. Average discount but above average free product incentives. Solid base salaries. Opening lots of stores. Founders are involved with company.

Cons

Leadership is lacking. vert little communication and lack of connection between headquarters and stores. Greater disconnect between home office and stores than typical retailers. Expectations are not clear. Expectations are not consistent.

Pros

Friendly, low-key atmosphere. They promote from within. As long as you're wearing clothing that either is, or looks like, J.McLaughlin product you can wear casual attire to work (including dark denim). Some managers will treat employees to lunch.

Cons

Favoritism is apparent throughout the organization, unfortunately. Pay is relatively low. The company lacks good technology/technological support that is necessary.

Pros

I worked for the flagship store on Palm Beach Island and it was such a great learning experience. The women were working there before me were great role models and leaders that showed me the way to great customer service. The pay was $12 an hour and as a freshman in college, I was more than happy with that. They are great about hiring within and offered me a position in another city! Great atmosphere to work in, the team spirit was quite alive, and it was quality product which was just a perk.

Cons

The pros outweighed the cons.
