Varied work

Pros

Varied work, wide tech stack, opportunities to learn from experts, high standards, good practice. Internal mobility opportunities if you want to shift roles or teams.

Cons

Constant re org, always changes, so constant shift in requirements from the top can be frustrating. Heavy hierarchy with many levels of managers. Job expectations & satisfaction depends on your managers leadership style which is varies from great managers to bad micro managers who put too much pressure on people. Often change manager every year. Lots of internal processes to learn that’s not useful elsewhere. Even when profits are up these don’t get passed on in salaries. Year on salary increments are low, in line with inflation, so not the best compensation if you stay 5+ years.
